The Suzuki Group Class gives students the opportunity to perform with fellow students of similar age and level.
This type of environment is designed to motivate and promote rapport among the students.
The Class provides opportunity to take the private lesson material and make it into a hands-on experience of music
activities and performance. Music concepts such as rhythm, listening skills, and movement will be covered.
The Goals of the Suzuki Group Class include:
- The development of good listening skills when performing in a group setting
- Creating a nurturing and encouraging environment.
- Providing opportunity for performance experiences (recitals, end of the year and outreach concerts)
- Generating a strong incentive to practice and improve without encouraging competitiveness.
When coming to a Group Class:
- Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the beginning of the group lesson for tuning, removing shoes, bathroom visits, etc.
- While parents are not required to attend group classes with their children, you are welcome to sit in and observe.
If you do choose to sit in, please observe quietly (unless you are asked to participate in an activity!).
