Suzuki Violin Lesson
Suzuki Violin for Beginners
Lauren Williams is a certified Suzuki Violin teacher and runs the Suzuki Violin program at East Cooper Music, teaching private lessons and classes. She teaches ages 3 and up.
The Suzuki method of teaching violin is the world’s most popular method for learning the violin. No matter what age, the Suzuki Method provides a solid foundation on technique and ear training while learning familiar simple songs in the beginning. For lessons with children, we encourage the parent to sit in on the lesson to help out the child at home. We also have a Suzuki class that coincides with the Suzuki lesson, allowing the children to learn together and play their pieces together in a group setting.

Classical and Fiddle Instruction

Classical and Fiddle Styles Taught
Mike Williams focuses on teaching Classical and other Styles such as Celtic/Fiddle and Jazz, catering to Intermediate and Advanced students.
Mike’s goal is to teach students and prepare them for a career in music, and will help them get what they want out the violin. Whether it is to prepare for college, student recitals, performing in a band or fiddle group, Mike has been in all of these situations and can help the student focus on their interests while providing solid technique and music theory for a fun, well rounded learning experience.
Jazz, Bluegrass, Celtic/Fiddle – music theory is focused more here – chordal theory, motivic development, rhythm in different styles, improvisation including writing out your own melodies / solos. Mike can help you get on stage, showing you what pickups / amplifiers to use, and help you rehearse with your band to get you gigging.
